Seven year itch
I'm writing you this letter to tell you that I'm leaving you for good. I've been a good woman to you for seven years and I have nothing to show for it. These last two weeks have been hell. Your boss called to tell me that you had quit your job today and that was the last straw. Last week, you came home and didn't notice that I had gotten my hair and nails done, cooked your favorite meal and even wore a brand new negligee. You came home and ate in two minutes, and went straight to sleep after watching the game. You don't tell me you love me anymore, you don't touch me or anything. Either you're cheating or you don't love me anymore, whatever the case is, I'm gone.
P.S. If you're trying to find me, don't. Your BROTHER and I are moving away to West Virginia together! Have a great life! Your EX-Wife
Dear Ex-Wife
Nothing has made my day more than receiving your letter. It's true that you and I have been married for seven years, although a good woman is a far cry from what you've been. I watch sports so much to try to drown out your constant nagging. Too bad that doesn't work. I did notice when you cut off all of your hair last week, the first thing that came to mind was "You look just like a man!" My mother raised me not to say anything if you can't say anything nice. When you cooked my favorite meal, you must have gotten me confused with MY BROTHER, because I stopped eating pork seven years ago. I went to sleep on you when you had on that new negligee because the price tag was still on it. I prayed that it was a coincidence that my brother had just borrowed fifty dollars from me that morning and your negligee was $49.99. After all of this, I still loved you and felt that we could work it out. So
when I discovered that I had hit th e lotto for ten million dollars, I quit my job and bought us two tickets to Jamaica. But when I got home you were gone. Everything happens for a reason I guess. I hope you have the filling life you always wanted. My lawyer said with your letter that you wrote, you won't get a dime from me. So take care.
P.S. I don't know if I ever told you this but Carl, my brother was born Carla. I hope that's not a problem.
Signed Rich As Hell and Free!

My two Moms
ONTARIO, Calif. Sep 23, 2005 — A 14-year-old student was expelled from a Christian school because her parents are lesbians, the school's superintendent said in a letter.
Shay Clark was expelled from Ontario Christian School on Thursday.
"Your family does not meet the policies of admission," Superintendent Leonard Stob wrote to Tina Clark, the girl's biological mother.
Stob wrote that school policy requires that at least one parent may not engage in practices "immoral or inconsistent with a positive Christian life style, such as cohabitating without marriage or in a homosexual relationship," The Los Angeles Times reported in Friday's edition.
Stob could not be reached for comment by the newspaper. Shay and her parents said they won't fight the ruling.
School administrators learned of the parents' relationship this week after Shay was reprimanded for talking to the crowd during a football game, Tina Clark said.
Clark and her partner have been together 22 years and have two other daughters, ages 9 and 19.
Anyone thinks the parents knew the rules beforehand?

Race disgrace
The Daily News reported Monday that the hate mail to the Yankees’ 31-year-old captain called him a “traitor to his race’’ for dating white women. It warned him “to stop or he’ll be shot or set on fire,” the News said.
The Daily News reported that others received similar threats, including U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Jason Taylor, and the parents of tennis star James Blake, of Fairfield, Conn.
Things never change do they? Notwithstanding the fact that he is a great ball player some people only see that he is black and not worthy of coming close to white women.Stick to your own, boy. For sure Jeter would not have to face the racial abuse that the average black person faces but just in case he thought his sports idol status was a shield it just disappeared.

Introducing Mr and Mrs Kutcher
After months of false alarms, Us Weekly is reporting that Demi Moore, 42, and Ashton Kutcher, 27, got married Saturday night at a Beverly Hills home in a ceremony in front of more than 100 of their closest friends and family. "It was very last minute,'' one guest told Us. Neither Moore nor Kutcher's reps would comment on the supposed nuptials. Invited to the ceremony were Moore's ex-husband, Bruce Willis, her children, Rumer, Tallulah and Scout, as well as Lucy Liu and Wilmer Valderrama. Notorious followers of Kabbalah, Moore and Kutcher included their faith in the wedding.
Notch one up for the younger man /older woman relationship that is the red hot Hollywood trend. How long it will last is anyone's guess.Meantime, I suppose its all part of the female liberation movement where women now feel comfortable doing what men have been doing for aeons.Still some way to go though before women are not looked upon as cradle robbers .On the other hand I definitely won't like having a stepfather who is that close to my age.

Couch Potato
Joachim did his TV viewing in the lobby of WABC-TV as part of the "Guinness World Record Breaker Week" on the syndicated Live With Regis and Kelly.
Sitting on a brown leather couch, he watched nothing but ABC shows.
"I'm going to be a little tired of watching TV after this," Joachim told The Associated Press by phone during a brief break.
Rules for the couch potato honor, as stipulated by Guinness, allow for a 5-minute break every hour and a 15-minute break every 8 hours. The viewer must otherwise be constantly looking at the screen.
The hardest part, Joachim said on Regis and Kelly, was "I couldn't watch the people" — the many, waving passersby on the street outside the ABC studio.
Joachim, who lives in Toronto but hails from Sri Lanka, now holds more than 16 Guinness records, including the longest duration balancing on one foot (76 hours, 40 minutes) and bowling for 100 hours. He does it, he says, to raise awareness of suffering children.
Is it just me or don't some of these records seem really ridiculous?Nobody should be forced to watch ABC nonstop-talk about torture. Anyway, for all those of us who love television we can now point to Mr Suresh when people question our viewing habits. But,I really don't see how doing these things raise awareness of suffering children. Its more a case of Mr Man drawing attention to himself and trying to look less egotistic. What y'all think?

The political game
The major political parties have already begun staging rallies where the candidate for the particular constituency is launched. It is at these rallies you get the best and worst aspects associated with an election campaign in small islands like ours.
Therefore,it is not uncommon for character assassinations of candidates and/or their relatives to be heard at these meetings. The juicier the details the greater the approval from the thousands of party supporters hanging on to every word from the lips of their messiah/leaders.
The following comments made by the Prime Minister,a man of Portuguese descent have sparked off considerable debate regarding the use of race in the political campaign since it is felt that the remarks are a jab at the blackness of the Opposition Leader.
1.If President Bush is to see me Ralph Gonsalves and Arnhim Eustace under the midday sun,he would not recognize Arnhim.
2.If President Bush is to see me,Ralph Gonsalves and Arnhim Eustace in the darkest night,he would not recognise Arnhim
3.Can you imagine Arnhim Eustace hugging up President Castro, President Chavez, President Bush,PM Blair or the PM of Japan?
Seems like another candidate for the foot in mouth award as far as am concerned. The second comment in particular feeds into local race baiting where you often hear people say person X is so black you won't recognise them in the dark. Therefore the PM should have known better than to make such an inflammatory statement. He,however has defended his comments as not being race oriented but rather a testimony to how well known he is in certain circles.Additionally, since blackness is apparently a philosophy he sees himself as one of the blackest persons around.Oooooookay,then.
Maybe somebody can tell me what is so special about being known by George Bush?

Cosby Family
Found this during some very random web surfing.First time I've seen a grown up photo of the cast and am wondering where is Denise(Lisa Bonet).Seems like this girl in somebody bad books. Doesn't Sondra(Sabrina Le Beauf) look amazing for some one in mid 40's.
On another note I used to love watching the show as a child and still like the idea of showing a black family that was successful. But,nowadays I can't even sit and watch more than five minutes of any one of the reruns.Olivia was truly an annoying child and Mrs Cosby and that smile grates on my nerves.Even back then I resented how Olivia just appeared and suddenly there was no more Rudy.Granted Rudy had left the cute kid stage but still it was as if she was put out to pasture.
Speaking of Rudy many Cosby fans feel let down(maybe too strong a term)that she appeared in a rap video in her skimpy oufit.Disturbing,is the way one my male friends describes it.True we grew up watching this wholesome little girl but I had to point out Rudy was just a character seeing he was taking it so personal.Keshia Knight Pulliam on the other hand is real, grown and doing whata lot of young women her age would do if given the opportunity. If she had done a porno flick like that little girl on Family Matters he probably would have needed counselling.
Anyway its good to see the grown up cast.I see Malcolm Jamal Warner on a sitcom,Raven has her show and last I Tempsett Bledsoe she was hosting some talk show. But where in the world is Lisa Bonet?

Lest we forget
The thousands of innocents who died in the 9/11 events. The planes slamming into the WTC and persons jumping to their deaths remain the most chilling thing I have ever seen.Boarding an airplane has never been the same since I have seen first hand how they can be turned into weapons.May their souls rest in peace.

Bye,Bye Thongs
Not to worry gentlemen, sexy boy shorts and other underwear are supposedly going to be the new craze and women will no longer have to endure the discomfort of thongs.Oh,the things we endure in the name of fashion.
I figure thongs made an entry to solve the "problem" of visible panty lines. Now,I never understood what was so criminal about visible panty lines, after all if we wear the garments then lines are to be expected.
Then somewhere along the line thong as outerwear became fashionable. It seemed like everywhere you turned a thong was peeping out from the back of some woman's low rise or regular pants. And then some women would try to pull their shirts over when sitting or just ignore it.For me,the thong as outerwear was plain tacky but then again am often accused of being oldfashioned. But seriously, there is a reason why it is called underwear, right? Given the rate at which underwear is becoming more and more visible an outfit may soon consist of a jazzy matching bra and panty set.
So,boys and girls what's your preference?

R.I.P Eugenia Charles
Dame Mary Eugenia Charles, DBE (born May 15, 1919 in Pointe Michel, Dominica; died Septenber 7, 2005 in Martinique) was the prime minister of Dominica from July 21, 1980 until June 14, 1995.
She began campaigning in politics during the 1960s against restrictions on press freedom. She helped to found the Dominica Freedom Party of which she served as leader from the early 1970s until 1995. She was elected to Parliament in 1970 and became opposition leader in 1975. Though she and her party were characterized as conservative, this was partially in comparison to socialist leaders in the Caribbean, as she did support some soicial welfare programs. Other issues that were important to her were anti-corruption measures and individual freedom.
Charles became prime minister when her party won elections shortly after Dominica gained full independence from British rule in 1979. She was the first female prime minister in the Caribbean. She resigned when her party lost elections. She also served as foreign minister of Dominica from 1980 to 1990. She was created a dame in 1992.
On August 30, 2005 Eugenia Charles was taken to a hospital for hip replacement surgery and died from complications on September 7, 2005.

Thank you Katrina
Ok, since am being honest here it has all the elements of a good crime story and would naturally draw human interest. But, a whole programme on Fox news nightly? Nah, plain overkill or really, really slow news days.
At least we are spared watching Greta Van Susteren and her never ending interviews of almost anybody with the remotest connection to the story. I confess it was a guilty pleasure until it just got plain annoying especially with the tone of backward little islands incapable of solving a crime. Of course conveniently omitted was the fact that many crimes never get solved in first world countries either.
So now it is time to focus on other missing people-the hundreds or thousands missing in New Orleans. Time to focus, rightly so on a national disaster rather than on one woman's loss.

Bedside Manner
TOKYO (Reuters) - "Trust me, I'm a doctor" wouldn't describe one Japanese medic who has landed in hot water after hitting and abusing a patient during surgery.
The elderly female patient at a hospital in Shiga, central Japan, was given a local anaesthetic for an unspecified operation early last month, but began thrashing around on the operating table and yelling at the doctor to stop.
After trying to persuade her to calm down, the doctor hit the patient on the forehead and yelled at her to shut up, a hospital spokesman said. The patient needed five days to recover from the injury to her forehead.
The operation was re-conducted last week by another doctor.
I wonder what suspension time he is looking at.

Anti rape condom
KLEINMOND, South Africa (Reuters) - A South African inventor unveiled a new anti-rape female condom on Wednesday that hooks onto an attacker's penis and aims to cut one of the highest rates of sexual assault in the world.
"Nothing has ever been done to help a woman so that she does not get raped and I thought it was high time," Sonette Ehlers, 57, said of the "rapex," a device worn like a tampon that has sparked controversy in a country used to daily reports of violent crime.
Police statistics show more than 50,000 rapes are reported every year, while experts say the real figure could be four times that as they say most rapes of acquaintances or children are never reported.
Ehlers said the "rapex" hooks onto the rapist's skin, allowing the victim time to escape and helping to identify perpetrators.
"He will obviously be too pre-occupied at this stage," she told reporters in Kleinmond, a small holiday village about 100km (60 miles) east of Cape Town. "I promise you he is going to be too sore. He will go straight to hospital."
The device, made of latex and held firm by shafts of sharp barbs, can only be removed from the man through surgery which will alert hospital staff, and ultimately, the police, she said.
It also reduces the chances of a woman falling pregnant or contracting AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases from the attacker by acting in the same way as a female condom.
South Africa has more people with HIV/AIDS than any other country, with one in nine of its 45 million population infected.
Ehlers, who showed off a prototype on Wednesday, said women had tried it for comfort and it had been tested on a plastic male model but not yet on a live man. Production was planned to start next year.
But the "rapex" has raised fears amongst anti-rape activists that it could escalate violence against women.
"If a victim is wearing such a device it may enrage the attacker further and possibly result in more harm being caused," said Sam Waterhouse, advocacy coordinator for Rape Crisis.
Other critics say the condom is medieval and barbaric -- an accusation Ehlers says should be directed rather at the act of rape.
"This is not about vengeance ... but the deed, that is what I hate," she said.

Too Funny
If I had a baby I'd have a week supply of this shirt.Granted we may not be the most popular duo in town but I'd have a hard time passing up this shirt.
