Flava of Love.Reunion time

After waiting all week for the Flava of Love Reunion show it was such a let down. Somehow,I expected much more than I got. Anyway, there were a few moments that I thoroughly enjoyed. First up was Krazy's "singing" and all I have to say after last night's demonstration is she should just give it up. Girl cannot sing to save her life, she was so bad I felt embarrassed.

Thn there was the New York/Bootz exchange. "Bootz, right? Is it Bootz? Because I don't really remember you." Gotta love,New York

Seriously though,If I were Deelishus I would be very displeased at the way Miss New york was the centre of the attraction.Imagine having to sit through Flav and New York talking about their special relationship and keep a straight face.

And did I hear Flav say he got New York her show? Won't it be something if Flav is a guest who turns up to help New York choose the man of her dreams or better yet is a contestant? Lol,stranger things have happened.

Anyway,am glad it's done.Hopefully,I soon drop all my Flavisms like wooooooooooow and refrain from encouraging my male friends to say "crowd round your man".

On another note Kyron Baptiste is making his mark in the Digicel rising Star competition. Digicel must be loving me because I voted ten times for him today. Am sure I'll vote again before the week is up because am such a patriot:)

Love is

Tomorrow, is my island's 27th birthday. Come and take a pictorial journey with me of the breathtakingly beautiful island that I love so very much. God knows there are many things wrong with SVG but there is also so much that is right. No other place embraces me the way this one has, no other place soothes and comforts the way this one does. This is home and I love it.

School and teen mothers

Yesterday, while browsing a local newspaper I stumbled across an article that annoyed me. Judge Lyle St Paul was commenting that it is time for stocktaking with the rentry of teenage mothers in secondary schools. He further queried whether Vincentians were sure that allowing mothers back in school was the right thing.

Yes Mr Judge,it is the right thing to do and kudos to the Vincy govt for getting it right. Why should the teen mother be deemed unfit for education? And please don't tell me it is because she will somehow contaminate the other girls and cause them to be sexually immoral.

Most would prefer teenagers to not be sexually active but the reality is that a lot of them are. Actually, most seem to be uncomfortable with female teen sexuality and the response to pregnancy is to cast them out. On the other hand the double standard of teen fathers remaining in schools must be seen as something honourable.

Who knows a second chance may just translate into a more responsible approach to education. After all they now have a responsiblity to provide for their child and an education is the window for making it possible.

I also noticed where the same judge knocked lifetime sentences for rape. Let's just say I won't argue if they were given two life sentences.Seems to me though he thinks rapists should get a slap on the wrist. That must explain why he allowed a man who was found guilty of rape to walk away with a charge to keep the peace for 3 years in the sum of 15,000. In default of which he will do five years prison time. Very baffling indeed

Get your Mammies Grammed

I got this in my inbox. There is a serious message at the end, but you get to laugh on the way there.

For years and years they told me,
Be careful of your breasts.
Don't ever squeeze or bruise them.
And give them monthly tests.

So I heeded all their warnings,
And protected them by law.
Guarded them very carefully,
And I always wore my bra.

After 30 years of astute care,
My gyno, Dr Pruitt,
Said I should get a Mammogram
"OK," I said, "let's do it."

"Stand up here real close" she said,
(She got my boob in line),
"And tell me when it hurts," she said,
"Ah yes! Right there, that's fine."

She stepped upon a pedal,
I could not believe my eyes!
A plastic plate came slamming down,
My hooter's in a vise!

My skin was stretched and mangled,
From underneath my chin.
My poor boob was being squashed,
To Swedish Pancake thin.

Excruciating pain I felt,
Within it's viselike grip.
A prisoner in this vicious thing,
My poor defenseless tit!

"Take a deep breath" she said to me,
Who does she think she's kidding?!?
My chest is mashed in her machine,
And woozy I am getting.

"There, that's good," I heard her say,
(The room was slowly swaying.)
"Now, let's have a go at the other one."
Have mercy, I was praying.

It squeezed me from both up and down,
It squeezed me from both sides.
I'll bet SHE'S never had this done,
To HER tender little hide.

Next time that they make me do this,
I will request a blindfold.
I have no wish to see again,
My knockers getting steam rolled.

If I had no problem when I came in,
I surely have one now.
If there had been a cyst in there,
It would have gone "ker-pow!"

This machine was created by a man,
Of this, I have no doubt.
I'd like to stick his balls in there,
And, see how THEY come out!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Go have those boobs checked out and stay healthy! Pass the message on to your mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, cousins, friends, wives, girlfriends --- and even your enemies.Because the WORST enemy is Breast Cancer

Deelishus wins

New York, your time is up. Deelishus, you know what time it is, come and get your grillz. It was sooo worth the wait to see New York lose it after being rejected a second time. Girl, you should have so listened to your Even though I wanted some dramatics New York really took it to another high or low depending on your perspective. After getting really pissed when the reality that she'd lost her man ..(again) she gets into an obscenity laced shouting match with Flav. When Flav tells New York to get the F out my girl flashes her ass and makes her exit.

I just loved when New York was leaving and Flav yells that she's just her like her Momma. New York replies,"I don't give a [bleep] . Do I look like I give a [bleep]? Because I don't. I'm still in the mother {bleeping} house." Actually, no New York you just got kicked to the curb...again!

And how about Deelishis's comment that there is a 50/50 chance that Flav will pick her. I mean there's only two of them remaining ..nevermind Deelishus. There were some other funny moments which I hope CaliJ would fill in. We got two more weeks to wait for the reunion show and an update on the Flav/Deelishus romance. Am betting we'll hear it's overrrrr.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting And now a little on Digicel Rising Star, my other sunday night passion. Danielle,I thought you were not going to make the cut this week. So,I was pleasntly surprised when yours was the fourth name called. You see I thought Anguilla's Catriona Lake and Barbados's Gregory Ayeoung were sure picks. Girl, no one doubts you can sing but the key is choosing right songs for the competition and the appropriate wardrobe. I have to give props to Kyron Baptiste(Patrice Bascombe's replacement) for an excellent performance last night. Am wary of predicting but you should get through easily to the next round.

I want to be a man..I think

I've always thought being a man would be so cool. Not only would I be free from period and labour pains but I could also get away with some social behaviours. For example,I could urinate and scratch my genitals publicly without raising too many eyebrows. If I were to tell the world I had numerous sex partners I would get bigups instead of the ho label.

However, after listening to a group of 30 and 40 something females gripe about the appearance of some gray hairs on their head men are gaining even more points, since I've never heard a man worry about the appearance of gray hairs. Maybe, it's because society says men look distinguished with gray hairs while women just look...old. Additionally, men have the option of going totally bald and looking good with it. That would explain why women go in panic mode when the grays spout up and start plucking them out before deciding it's time for the cover up dyes.

Eventually, I guess I would have to answer the dye or not to dye question. I wonder if I would bow to vanity or just let the grays run wild. Actually,I don't think I'd mind the grays as much if only they'd all come out at once.I can't stand this black and white mixture but I could try making a cool fashion statement with a totally silver head. Who knows I may convince others to follow suit..... just maybe.

After waiting all week for Flavor of Love's finale it turns out that VH1 has decided to make us wait one more week. I made sure to get everything out the way so I could tune in at midday only to hear the bad news. As a consolation VH1 treated us to never seen footage of Season 2 and believe me some things are better not revealed.

One of the fathers (deelishus's,I think) asked for a carton of pigeon's milk. Nuff said. I saw Deelishus in a micro mini on audition day and trust me when you have that much cellulite it's an act of bravery. Interestingly, I saw a sneek peak of next week's show and Bootz was announcing she is no longer celibate. Any bets she didn't get married?

Thank God Digicel Rising Stars( East Caribbean Version) begin in earnest tonight. Danielle Veira, one of the Vincy rep's will hit the stage tonight and next week Kyron Baptiste who replaced the deceased Patrice Bascombe will have his turn. Good luck girl and do your best to make it a double for SVG. Speaking of Rising Stars, congrats to One Third for winning the 2006 Jamican version just as I predicted.

Flavor of Love

I hate reality shows. I find them to be so contrived that it makes a mockery of the word reality. Yet am addicted to VH1's Flavor of Love and loving every moment of it. I got it so bad that I watch it at midday on Sundays and then again at 10 pm for good measure.

I should really hate this show but I can't. There is nothing good in watching women abusing each other physically and verbally as they jostle for Flav's attention. Anything for 15 minutes of fame, right? Then, there is Mr Flav, complete with grillz, the ever present clock around his neck and his outlandish clothes. I wince everytime I see the man appear and the girls fall over themselves to greet their man. Even though am horrified am busy recruiting friends to get in on the Flavor of Love experience.

I thought last season was pretty shocking with Pumkin spitting in New York's face among other things. This season we saw a contestant take a crap on the mansion's floor and actually boast about it. As if that wasn't bad enough we were given an earfull of Flav and New york's private time.

I can hardly wait for Sunday to see which girl will get her custom made grillz. New York or Deelishus,New York or Deelishus will be the song playing in my head this week. Please, don't let it be New York or we would miss some dramatic meltdown moments. I need help, don,t I?
