So sorry

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingHer name was Stacy Wilson and she was just 21 years old. Little did she know that when she boarded a minibus that fateful afternoon of Monday the 11th that she was minutes away from being executed. Her only crime being the refusal of the advances of her murderer.Five days after her slaughter I remain horrified at the events that took place at the Bus Terminal. Amidst the horror another emotion viz anger rages within me.

I am angry at the way our women are too often at the receiving end of violent acts from our menfolk. I remain angry at a system that pays lip service to women's rights but remains powerless to protect us. A system that turns away women who report that they are threatened by men and attempts to trivialize it. A system that is reluctant to involve itself in what is perceived as a lovers quarrel. I am angry at those who seek to justify Stacy's death by theorising that it must have been a romantic situation gone sour for him to react in such a manner.

I am utterly disgusted at our authorities response to the murder. Can anybody explain why it took more than an hour for Stacy's headless body to be removed from the Bus Terminal? Yes, am aware that there is a requirement for doctors to pronounce victims dead before the body could be removed but surely this could have been expedited.

Instead, the unnecessary delay in removing the body allowed far too many persons to capture photographs of the mutilation which were then splashed all over the Internet. Surely, even in death we could have offered Stacy some more dignity. At least we owed her that much after she lost her life in such a heinous way.

And why hasn't there been a national day of mourning? For the most part we are a nation reeling in horror with too many of us having seen the unimaginable. It just cannot be business as usual with our collective psyche so badly damaged. We need to unite, share our grief and see how we can prevent another such horror from occurring. Stacy's blood cries out for nothing less.

What you've written here really reaches deep. It's unthinkable, the level of trauma & the ruin women undergo. For someone so young to go so tragically -- and why? For absolutely nothing! They need to get rid of that man -- isolate him in an asylum til death, or enact the death penalty.

Have no fear. He will burn in hell for his crime. Things like these make you want to get up and do something. If only more people felt that way.

This was a great post. More people should feel outraged, not just when its their family. Just stopping by to wish you a beautiful and happy holiday and a Happy New Year if I don't get back through here before then. Yayyy for almost 2007!

thats sad news. am sorry for stacy and her family. lots of sad things happening in the world these days and it seems that we as a group are just so callous about them.

Written like a true reporter. It's sad to see this young girl loose her life in such a manner. Women should band together and speak out against such violence. boycott the bus in which she was riding and most of those busses, just march and protest until action is done. It's a damned shame that our societites have come tuh such a thing.

So she was the girl whose life that monster took. Sad indeed.

I'm from Dominica and what I cannot understand is why is this man looking in such good condition? Here he would have surely been bruised and battered, if not by civilians the police would have had their day with him! In our communities that man would be in the hospital! No way you are going to do this to a young woman and look like that pic outside the court that I saw!

Why did others stand by while this woman was tied and dragged? And while he is doing this act where were the other people.. no sticks, no logs, no young men brave enough to hold this man down?

Why were there so many people standing around and no one ran for a sheet to cover the young lady. I saw the pictures and seeing it really showed the hard truth.. but the body should have been covered if it did stay there for an hour.

This is sad, and this man had better say thank God he didn't do it here in Dominica. I'm sure he'd have been lying on that street too if dead.. near dead.

My sympathy to the family.

There are many things I don't understand as well. Apparently a few threw bottles etc while he was doing his deed but to no avail.I don't understand why one the van drivers in the Terminal didnt run their van on him when they saw him chop her hand off. I don't understand why parents were showing their children the body as it lay on the ground. I don't know and I prefer to say it was shock rather than we just stood by and let her die.

I got the pics in my email.... n Oh My God the horror... that a young lady the same age as I am should die in such a gruesome manner in BROAD DAYLIGHT... and in a public place besides. Oh God where are the brothers keepers... couldn't someone have done something... all those ppl shown standing around... taking pictures... like its a show or something... I refuse to believe that we are so uncaring.... I prefer to believe, as abeni said, that they were all in shock.... the other alternative is too hard to contemplate....RIP Stacy....

Rest in Peace indeed. God knows she didn't leave this place peacefully.

My sympathy to the family and I would hope you forward this message to the family for me, thanks. To the Family, I hope you know that God is with you at this time of need. We feel for the loss of your daughter Stacey and wish that you put your heart, soul and spirit with the Lord. The Lord is the Shepard in this time of need for we are his Sheep on this planet earth. I hope that Stacey's situation will help to assure that this does not happen to any other women.

Peace be with you and your family from now and going forward.

Love and peace from the Garvin Family....you will be in our prayers always and forever...Stay Strong with the Lord.....

My sympathies to her family. Just a sad reminder of the Mark Williams incident at Carnival several years ago. One too many young woman dead because her decisdion was not respected and accepted

It's so sad that stacy wilson had to lose her life in the hand of that heartless criminal.God knows she diodn't deserve such harsh death, but god is going to deal with that devil(sean samuel),what a day it will be.My symphathy goes out the love ones of stacy and i am praying for you all for god's strength and healing upon you all and may he have no mercy on sean samuel for such wicked action he took on that tragic day.God bless you and remember to trust and believe in god and he will put his trust in you.gOD BLESS

this man desire to be killed and the whole of st vincent should be there to see his death he is a heartless monster.

stacy wilson you are not alive but god will make the monster pay for killing you god know you did not deserve such harsh death that devil sean samuel have eno mercy on him went his time comes....

I AM IN THE UK BORN FROM A VINCENTIAN MOTHER. SINCE RECEIVING AN EMAIL WHICH INCLUDED THE DISTURBING PICTURES OF THIS BEAUTIFUL YOUNG LADY IN SUCH CONDITION I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PEACE. STACY IS NO LONGER HERE THAT MUCH WE CANNOT CHANGE BUT I AGREE WITH A PREVIOUS COMMENT ABOUT HOW WELL THIS CREATURE SHORN SAMUEL APPEARS IN THE PHOTO. THIS THING IS NOT MENTALLY ILL, IT IS EVIL AND IT'S LIFE HAS TO BE ENDED. THE COUNTRY SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY TO KEEP IT ALIVE IN ANY CORRECTIONAL FACILITY OR MENTAL INSTITUTION. IT KNEW WHAT IT WAS DOING AND WAS DRIVEN BY PURE EVIL AND DESIRE TO POSSESS THIS YOUNG LADY. IF IT CONTINUES TO BE ALLOWED TO BREATH THE SAME AIR AS YOU AND I, WE WILL SURELY HAVE REACHED A NEW LEVEL OF DEGRADATION. THIS THING HAS LOST ALL RIGHTS TO BE TREATED AS A HUMAN BEING. I AM IN PAIN FOR STACY AND HER LOVED ONES. MAY SHE REST IN ETERNAL PEACE.

When I first got the email with the pictures, I thought it was some sick joke. I just could not believe that this was real and that people actually stood around with small children looking at this young lady's dismemembered body. I pray for peace of mind for Stacey's family, and that justice will be served. RIP STACEY!

i must say your words about one of the most gruesome and sadistic violent events, ever to take place in st vincent, is appealing. you seem to be an emotionalist yourself.i am not writing only to congratulate you on your writing skills, but, to also shread some light on the event, that took place in december at the bus terminal with stacey. i never really knew her by person but i was crushed by her death. another thing is that, not only oi am crushed by her death ,but, by the way some girls reacted towards men few days after. the death os stacey is a very sadden lost! yes! i agree, but, that does not give the women an IQ to generals and be so hostile towards men. being angry at the man is understandable and yes he must be punished in a way that may satisfy societies greafings for stacey.however, most importantly "we need to unite" (16,dec,2006. so sorry, Abeni). so i encourage men and women to unite with each other and help stop the violence on whole in our country, not just against women but against men & and children as well.

hi. i just saw the pictures on email and to say the least only the devil could have done this. where did this happen? in which country did this occur, when and was it really necessary. really, we are all but one, whoever did this have killed themselves. this lady is off to heaven, may the lord god receive her soul and continually comfort it, AMEN. what men are supposed to know is thats we women are their mothers, sisters and daughters. we are the passage that brought them into this world. just by merely knowing that we are safe and dry. please stop this abuse against women, the lord created us to be protected by men, please do just that

SHE DESERVES IT WHY THE HELL DID SHE CHEAT
ALL WOMEN OUT THERE THTS A LSSON FOR YU ALL

Ummmm..the comment about Stacey deserving it is as ignorant as the person who posted it.I bet you will be a defense witness.

TO YOU WHO WROTE THAT STACY DESERVE YOU ARE A STUPID PIECE OF CRAP AND YOU WILL GET YOURS. REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU THINK SHE DID HER LIFE DID NOT BELONG TO THIS JACKASS WHO TOOK IT. HE COULD HAVE FOUND ANOTHER WOMAN, WE ARE NOT PERSONAL PROPERTY BUT HE CHOOSE TO DISRESPECT HER LIFE IN THIS MANNER. I HOPE BOTH YOU AND THIS JACKASS ROT IN HELL AND MAY YOUR PAIN BE A THOUSAND TIMES MORE THAN WHAT SHE WENT THROUGH. REST IN PEACE STACY "GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN"

If that man had done this in Jamaica, he should have been lying within that yellow tape with her. The people would have done away with him themselves. He wouldn't have been turned over to the police. What I never understand is... Why is it that the police are never in time to save the victim? But yet, they are always in time to save the killer who would only be getting the same fate that he prior, cast upon someone else. Doesn't make sense.

And to the ... I don't even know what to call you who said that the Stacy deserved what she got, if you had said that as an onlooker in the crowd in Jamaica, your body would have been the third body lying on the ground within that yellow tape. Because we don't wait around on the police and the courts who is going to just try you and give you free room and board for the rest of your life, to us that is not justice. Justice is an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. We do our own vigilante justice.

What were the people standing around doing?? Why did no one stop him?? She was sitting on a bus, with other people, and no one stopped this guy from boarding the bus, pulling her off and killing her??

I can understand being in shock over what's happening, but once you get over that, you make a stand and do something. I hate to say it, but all those who stood around and did nothing, are just as responsible for her death as he is.

WELL I READ YOUR STORY AND WAS DISAPPOINTED BY WHAT I READ. I BELEIVE AT THE TIME YOU WROTE THIS PIECE YOU WERE MORE CONCERNED WITH MAKING A NAME FOR YOURSELF THAT YOU NEVER BOTHERED TO RESEARCH THE TRUTH OF WHAT REALLY HAPPEN. OTHERWISE YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER POSTED THIS GARBAGE AND MISLEAD THE PUBLIC THE WAY YOU DID. HAVING SAID THAT LET ME MAKE MYSELF CLEAR THAT I IN NO WAY SUPPORT WHAT HAPPEN TO THIS YOUNG LADY SHE WAS A VICTIM. BUT NOT ONE OF A CRIME OF PASSION. HER FAMILY IS MORE RESPONSIBLE FOR HER DEATH THAN ANYONE ELSE BUT NO ONE IS ACKNOWLEDGING THAT FACT. YES A TERRIBLE ACT TOOK PLACE AND HE SHOULD BE PUNISHED FOR THAT CRIME. MY ONLY REGRET HOWEVER, IS THAT HE LET HIS ANGER CONTROL HIM AND IT COST HIM HIS LIFE. I BELIEVE MANY WILL BE HAPPY WHEN THIS TIME COME BUT THOSE WHO KNOWS THE TRUTH WILL RECOGNIZE THIS AS SUCH A WASTE OF A LIFE AND FOR THOSE REALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS YOUNG WOMAN'S DEATH I DOUBT THEY WILL FIND PEACE.

Funny how your only issue is it wasn't a crime of passion.Nothing you have written can take away from the horror that took place at the bus terminal. Slice and dice it all you want, the person responsible is sitting on death row. Nothing changes that.

YES ALL THAT IS TRUE BUT HE WILL BE AT PEACE SOON. I WONDER WHAT YOU PEOPLE WOULD WRITE ABOUT AFTER THAT I PLAN TO CELEBRATE THE END OF HIS SUFFERING.

I will write Justice has been served.

REALLY!!! LOL

You can recommend sainthood or dedicate your efforts to having his side of the story told. Maybe Hollywood will come calling

Abeni, I agree. Nothing will change the fact that he did what he did. What you wrote was what you felt and its really sad.

To the insensitive person ? Wat the hell? The fact can neva be changed that she will neva see the lite of dai agen becos of HIM.

I hope her soul rests in peace and the monster who did this suffers eternally.

She's with God now. He's protecting her from harms way. What I dont understand is how could people just stand around and look at her body like that and nobody covers it up. Im a black male 21, from Philadelphia, and to be honest it brought tears to my eyes to see her body like that and nobody does nothing and people taking pictures like that.People better pray that the Lord is merciful when he returns. My heart goes out to her family nobody should have to die like this. She's in a better place, with God -M.Dolla$

what u have written is truely touching and i agree the he was wrong to do what he did.. but if u all know the story behind what happen i bet u all will think different.. to you all that said he is a monster..well he is not he is human am not agreeing with what he did but before u go and write ur blog or report get the true fact and stop scandalizing thee man name am tired of hearing ppl putting there bad mouth on him give it a rest all ready if they kill him then so be it what is that gonna prove i think u all should leave the man alone and stop judge him.. thank you

so am I tro believe that when we hear the story we will think he was justified in chopping off her head? Nothing justifies that!

Nothing justifies the fact that he cut off her head.. but i am saying stop scandalizing the man name if u don't know that whole truth behind the matter.. i agree that he was wrong to react in such a brutal way but that does not give you or anyone else the authority or obligation to be passing accusation on him, if it were ur brother who have done that ,would u want everyone to be calling him something that he is not, knowing that u know the truth behind the whole story !!! you all should just give this thing a rest..

And why don't you enlightnen us with all the facts? Since you have said it doesn't justify what he did then why waste my time by telling me what to think

if i enlighten you with the facts young lady you will be shocked, but it isn't my priority to do that, it is the person who are responsible for her death has to do that. the only thing you all know about this man is the fact that he cut the girl head off killing her brutally for everyone to see, what else do you know about this man???
