Who knew

That blogging would translate into a job offer? Certainly, not me when I started this thing one year and 9 mths ago.Back then it was merely following a friend who announced to me that he was starting one.Seeing that I always had an opinion I figured why not give it a try and so the blog was born.

To my great shock and more than a bit of amusement I have been asked to write something for a local newspaper.I,however have declined partly because I feel it is out of my league seeing that am constantly in awe of all the beautiful writers around. On the other hand I don't want writing to feel like a chore.

So there you have it boys and girls.I could have been famous-well almost:)

Comments:
You go gurl....I am so proud of you!

If they found what you wrote to their liking then why not do it???

Ya never know.

Again congrats even though you did not accept the offer.

That's awesome Kami but I think you are short changing yourself in your opinion that it is out of your league. You started this blog and have been gaining an audience through the strength of your writing alone and that is most definitely something to be proud of.

Congrats on the offer!

wow! you let it go? Naa. You should go for it for real. The fact that you are in awe of a lot of writers that you consider to be in a greater league doesn't actually mean that you are not in their league too. : ) It's just your humble side thinking that way.

I feel you on not wanting writing to be a chore, but for real, I think you should go for it. If you are good at it (which you are. actually, you are really good), it will flow for you and it will lead you to greater opportunities. There is nothing like getting paid for what you already enjoying doing.

Anywayz, good luck and all the best. Keep up the good work. ;)

Lok at this?? A rising star in our midst. You should have taken the gig on conditional terms. Who knows, you might have been surprised at your ow hidden talents. Obviously they saw something that interest them.

Congrats on the job offer.

Well that was a pleasant turn of events.

You know before I started to read your blog today- I thought, "your blog is the coolest one." and then I read the entry about the job offer. I like your thoughts and how you share them with us- and even though I don't know you- sort of (only through the blog)- I must agree with the other commentators that you are selling yourself short. But you know what's best for you. Junjah.

WOW!! Congrats! But you turned it down!?!??! Just when I thought we coulda have some extra money to pop open some smirnoff ice and champagne!

Aww that's so awesome! You so should have agreed to do it. Can't you tell them you've changed your mind?!

Thanks everyone

awww you turned it down....you would've had to link me to your column....well, something else may be on the horizon....congrats...

Congrats Abeni. You're finally a PROBLOGGER!

That is wonderful! I wouldn't have turned down the opportunity though. It would be great to have been known even for a little bit! Congrats though. It is an honour to just be asked.

Good Luck lah

Rahtid, Doc, I scarcely remembered that. Anyway, if it were me, I would have given it a whirl. I don't know that I would want my column to be EVERY single week or anything like that, but I would have tried it out. I think you should too!
