Katrina

Image hosted by Photobucket.comSometimes a picture says it best. This one sums up the real loss after Katrina,i.e the death of loved ones.Watching the devastation on television makes one realise how truly helpless we are in the face of Nature. Its actually quite sobering too as it serves to remind us that all we have can be taken away in a flash.Am at the stage where am wary of looking at any more coverage, not because it is overkill but rather the scale of devastation is a bit too much to handle.

And then there is the looting.I don't know what it is about people that would make looting take priority at times like these.Browsing through some news sites I found this little gem which made me smile: "At a drug store in the French Quarter, people were running out with grocery baskets and coolers full of soft drinks, chips and diapers. One looter shot and wounded a fellow looter, who was taken to a hospital and survived." Maybe the wounded looter infringed on the unspoken rules of looting.

Meanwhile,as the task of cleaning up continues the least we can do is keep the affected people in our thoughts.

Comments:
for real and the scary thing was that Katrina was promising to even be worse than it eventually turned out to be.

So sad = some many tragedies and insurance rates are going to increase substantailly I bet too.

ya bite my post again lol.
whats the unspoken rule of looting? is that like leave some for the other looters, some 3 items maximum or something so?

katrina was big and bad, i think that the devastion will continue cause you got to figure out what to do with all them people that homeless and provide food and shelter an the like for them. could spark all sorta epidemics with this water and flooding too

Quite right. Now with 2 broken levies, evacuees are being evacuated from their no longer safe shelters.

We definitely have to keep them in our thoughts. Lives are at stake and all some people can think of is liftin' a pair of Jordans?
