Foot in mouth award

A few days back Sable Dawn came up with the first monthly Negro Please Award.Loved the winner and the idea and so this morning am giving out my own award.I say with all confidence that its highly unlikely anybody will ever top my winner.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com And the award goes to the 700 club President,Pat Robertson for this gem.Calling The Venezuelan President "a terrific danger" bent on exporting Communism and Islamic extremism across the Americas the Jesus lover came up this solution."If he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it," Robertson told viewers on his "The 700 Club" show Monday. "It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war" This is insanely stupid even for Robertson who is known for making some eye brow raising comments.

Caucasian please! How does a country that's at least 95% Catholic export Islamic extremism.Seems to me they have a huge task on their hands of converting their citizens before bothering with the rest of the world.I say Mr Robertson head done gone(senile)

At least in a lucid moment he touched on the crux of the matter that was bothering him-the oil that Venezuela controls. But seriously what kind of flawed message is Mr Robertson sending here. So,we don't like some one or their politics and our recourse is to take them out? That doesn't sound like words that should be coming from a man who lives by the Ten Commandments but more like Tony Soprano or one of those Islam extremists calling for a fatwa.Jesus must be so proud.

Comments:
Eediat!

Who tell you hom live by any Ten Commandments? Televangelists live to do one thing...make plenty money. Long as their pockets well lined they will say Jesus any amount of times on TV!

Have no use fe dem.

"would Jesus wear a Rolex on his television show..." comes readily to mind here.

caucasian please! yo dat is the new line, i love it

so which ah dem ten Commandments say that yuh should have sumbodie killed. Did I miss something when I was reading Exodus 20 v 13.

LOL!! Best laugh I had all week. I was talking to a friend from Canada, explaining why Americans aren't really stupid (as she thinks). She brought up Pat Robertson, and I had to admit she may be right.

P.S. Thanks for the link.

Yeah, "Caucasian, please" is my new catchphrase. In fact it is now one of my forum signatures!

Anywhoo, I must correct you there with that Tony Soprano talk. Yeah, we know the big man have he mummy issues and all, but de man is a business-man. You think he go kill Chavez when he could link up and make some cash? And you know them Venezuelan goombas looking better than any chicks from Jersey! :D

Lol,YY.I stand corrected:)

'Head done gone' has fit Pat Robertsons profile since God called on him decades ago to run for President...he did and lost the nomination, so at least God didn't lose his head.

Interesting blog, by the way.

Actually...him kinda look like GW Bushy....similar minds eeh?

He sounds like an asshole! In fact, hes such a big asshole that I am sure he was reamed out by John Holmes!

I think I will call him TERRORIST!

You'd be right to call him so Stunner.

I have to say that old Pat sounded.... well... Old. Ever notice how some people just get less and less tactful and/or rational with age?

Sheesh. I'm all for free speech. However, I can't help but feel like his statement was not only in very bad form, but it was just stupid to let something like that go out on the airwaves.

I say that as a man who embraces a Faith in Christ. i don't think that embracing faith means blindly endorsing comments like what was made regarding an assasination attempt on Chavez. It makes me sad.

People like Pat are the reason I do not attend church and refuse to give a penny to any church. Why should I give 10% of my hard earn money to these organizations?

I touched on this in my blog too. I never once bought it as a mistake even though Pat wanted everyone to. I think Pat said it hoping to get attention and I think he was really dumb enough to think people would agree with him. Just another case of someone thinking they have the right to say something wrong then apologize. People are intitled to their opinions but if you're too stupid (like Pat) to know when you should and should not share them, maybe you should keep your mouth shut. And Pat is one of those people who definitely needs to keep his mouth shut. For his sake if not ours. Nice blog.
