Moon Landing

Image hosted by Photobucket.comOn July 20 ( July 21 GMT ) 1969 the first man stepped on the moon.Everyone who watched from Earth as Neil Armstrong stepped out of the capsule and on to the Moon remembers where they were at the time. It was one of the defining moments of the twentieth century, and one of man's greatest achievements.During the next 3 years 6 missions to the moon were made and a total of 12 astronauts walked on the moon.Up to this day many still believe the moon landing was a hoax probably because of the scope of the achievement.Even though I have grown up in a world where space missions etc have become second place it is still mindboggling to think of that 1969 feat.So I can well imagine the awe of those who watched or listened as the event occurred.

However, this day/event should be remembered as symbol of man's quest to explore the unknown.

Comments:
Amazing what man has done on this earth... and amazing what problems they have created as well.

Ain't that the truth!

Good articles on the ancillary benefits of the space programme:

yuh know Kami, it mighta been a hoax, cause I in see howcomes nuhbodie neva been back since or attempted tuh. things tuh mek yuh go huuummmmm.

De space program might be doing some good, but I think it's damaging our atmosphere moreso thatn it's doing good to mankind.

an to think the only significant event i can remembe where i was is when i heard that biggie get shoot.

Yuh been supplying Discovery Channel with info again...nuh true?

Camp..people went back since that first mission.

Well I'm back from a great trip to Boscobel.

Another way to think about the landing of the first man on the moon is as a symbol of the quest of the United States to one up everyone else. In that case they outdid the Russians who put the first man in space.

there are many issues related to this why people think it is a hoax, ie, the flag blowing in the 'wind', no gravity!!!
