Breaking the silence

Am gonna link you all to One woman's account of abuse. Makes you wonder how many persons are walking around with scars.

Comments:
That's one rough story, Kami, an' from de sound ov it de abuser got away scot-free, leavin' her to suffer an' be stigmatized. Seems de writer was worried that she might repeat de cycle ov abuse--hopefully not on kids--so de best part ov de story is that she's gone public about it to prevent herself from repeatin' de abuse. Her family shoulda protected her--but coulda, woulda, shoulda--forgiveness or not, I'd just cut them loose.

More than you know Kami, Whole heaps more. :-(

My main thing is how can it be reduced, if not stopped? How people who care can raise kids who are susceptible to the seduction and less forceful or violent approaches of predators?

Thanx Kami for raising this important issue.

when you see folks and you think their behavior is strange you never know what trauma they are internalizing. this one is sad though.

It sounds bad fi true, but when I read it I didn't see why she hated all the adults in her life so much... I guess she didn't tell the whole story there...

MB,I get the sense that she hates them for not protecting her or just not being able to see what was going on.
